The Perch has a deep hump backed body, with bold vertical stripes and a double dorsal fin. The first dorsal fin has very strong spikes which can be quite dangerous when handled. The second dorsal fin is much softer. The Perch is a predator with a strikingly menacing look and is widespread throughout Irelands coarse fishing waterways.
