| Eel like in some ways the ling is a member of the cod family. When caught it can look like a conger coming out of the water and has the same presence when it breaks the surface. It has two dorsal and one anal fin, the second dorsal fin and anal fin being long and almost feathery in quality, stretching all the way to it's tail. It has one distinct barbel on it's chin. |
Can be treated in the same way as conger in that it will eat almost anything and can be caught around wrecks. Although it is not unheard of it is very unlikely that you will catch them from the shore. |
