Location:

The river Maine has two tributaries which are The Brown Flesk and the Little Maine. It can be found flowing into Castlemaine Harbour.

Catch:Salmon, Sea Trout & Brown Trout.

This is an average size stretch which is mostly overgrown. Great runs of Salmon and Sea trout are caught here late in the season. Five draft nets can be found operating at the mouth of the river, together with one at Castlemaine. Grilse are fished here and enter the river in June. Sea trout are available in July.

Season:

Brown trout are taken from February 15th - October 12th. Salmon fishing is between January 17th - September 30th and Sea trout is from January 17th - October 12th.

Fly and spinning.
